McWane valve & hydrant group holds 2017 sales meeting

The first week of May, the McWane valve and hydrant group held its 2017 National Sales Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee.  The meeting focused on topics such as hands-on product training, industry knowledge and selling and marketing skills.  One of the highlights of the week was the Hydrant Hysteria Competition that took place within the sales force.  

Hydrant Hysteria is an AWWA competition among sections across the country, similar in format to the tapping competition, where teams to compete to assemble a fire hydrant in the fastest time.   AWWA Sections across the country compete and will send their best teams to finals in Philadelphia at the 2017 AWWA ACE Convention in June.  McWane is exempt because the competition is only available to municipalities/section members of AWWA.  However, M&H Valve is supplying the fire hydrants for this year's competition and Clow Valve will provide the hydrants in 2018 and M&H Valve again in 2019.  Although they are exempt from competing in the AWWA competition, Kennedy/M&H Valve team members Ryan Caron and Doug Lewis won the sales team event with an average time of 2:56.  Congrats Ryan and Doug
