Raymond Spoon gains a new appreciation for fellow team members and first responders

On March 3, 2017, I went to work at Manchester Tank in Quincy, Illinois just like I had so many other days, however that day changed my life forever. While at work I had a heart attack, but the quick reaction and response of a few of my co-workers who made an assessment and called 911 saved my life.  As it turns out, I had to have open heart by-pass surgery.  According to my wife Sue, the surgeon said, “The lower bypass is called the widow maker and without a doubt the crew at Manchester saved his life.  Everything was against him and if it wasn’t for their quick reaction he would be dead”.

Because of my friends and co-workers I have a second chance at life! I am recovering quite well and I hope to be able to return to work in a few weeks.  On April 12, my wife and I stopped by to personally thank everyone for what they did to protect and save me.  Sue told them all, “Ray has special angels in each one of you, everyone thinks that angels wear white but they also wear denim.”
